- ESSENTIAL FOOD AID
The best of you are those who feed others
At Al-Fikr, our desire is to eliminate food poverty, both locally in the UK and worldwide. Global changes start from an individual level and we are excited to be offering you the opportunity to help support our needy brothers and sisters with essential food aid to honour their basic human need to survive.
The luxury of having food so readily accessible is something that many of us take for granted. Regrettably though, so many of our neighbours in the UK; brothers and sisters across the world go to bed with an empty stomach, living from day to day in uncertainty of when or where their next meal may come from.
“He is not a believer whose stomach is full while his neighbour is starving.”
Al-Sunan al-Kubrá lil-Bayhaqī 19668

Local Food Packs
Islam teaches us to care for our neighbours and support those in need. While poverty may be less visible in the UK, millions of people experience food insecurity each year. Following the Sunnah of our beloved Prophet Muhammad ﷺ, we can help make a real difference by supporting families in our local community. Our beloved Prophet Muhammad ﷺ advised that we should
(Give) to the neighbour who is closest to your door.
Reported by Aisha (Ṣaḥīḥ al-Bukhārī 5674)
Since 2019, we have been providing weekly food parcels and essential aid to local families experiencing food poverty. As demand continues to grow, your support helps us reach more families in need.
Working in partnership with MK Act, The British Red Cross, and The Salvation Army, we identify and support the most vulnerable in our community. A donation of just £20 a month provides a weekly food parcel containing approximately 7 meals for a small family.
In line with our 100% donation policy, every donation goes directly towards supporting families, with food parcels delivered by hand to their doors by our dedicated volunteers.

Homelessness remains a growing challenge, even in a country of abundance. Through our weekly outreach, we provide hot meals, warm clothing, hygiene packs, sleeping bags, and other essential support to people experiencing homelessness.
The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ said:
“Protect yourself from Hell-fire even by giving a piece of a date as charity.”
(Bukhari & Muslim)
A donation of just £30 a month helps provide weekly hot meals, a monthly hygiene pack, and a sleeping bag, offering comfort, dignity, and hope to those in need.

For many families, securing their next meal is a daily challenge. Together, we can help ease their hardship and provide essential support.
(The Righteous Are Those) Who Feed The Poor
Quran 76:8-9

Every donation is used in line with our 100% donation policy, ensuring your support reaches those who need it most.
“Have you seen the one who denies the Recompense? (the religion), For that is the one who drives away the orphan, And does not encourage the feeding of the poor”

Soup Kitchen
Food insecurity affects hundreds of millions of people worldwide. Climate change, ongoing conflicts, and economic instability have made hunger worse for the most vulnerable. Al-Fikr works across some of the world’s poorest countries to help alleviate hunger and poverty, partnering closely with local NGOs to reach those who need it most.
- Pakistan is one of the countries where we currently run several projects. Over a quarter of the population lives below the poverty line.
- On 31 January 2021, Al-Fikr launched a soup kitchen in Pakpattan, Punjab, around 170 km from Lahore. We currently open every other day, providing meals for 200–225 people. Our goal is to open daily, serving up to 300 people, a target we can only reach with your support.
- Working with local NGOs, we identify and prioritize widows, orphans, disabled individuals, and the elderly in the area as recipients of the meal program.
- Caring for orphans is considered an act of worship, as mentioned in the Qur'an.
